This policy explains what information Kymakers collects when you use kymakers.shop, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

What we collect when you buy something
To sell you a licence key and deliver it, we need your name, your email address, and your billing address. Your email address is the important one, because that is where your key is sent. We also record the products you bought, the amount you paid, the time of the order, and the order status.
We do not see or store your card number. Payment is handled by our payment provider, and your card details go to them directly rather than through our servers. What comes back to us is a confirmation that the payment succeeded or failed, and the last four digits of the card so we can match a payment to an order if you contact us about it.
What we collect when you just browse
Our web server keeps standard access logs: the IP address the request came from, the browser and operating system it reports, the pages requested, and the time. These logs exist so we can diagnose faults and detect abuse.
We use analytics to understand which pages people find useful and where they get stuck. Analytics tells us things like how many people read a guide and how far down they scroll. It does not tell us who you are.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. We use them for three things. The first is your shopping cart, which would otherwise empty every time you loaded a new page. The second is staying logged in, if you have an account. The third is analytics, as described above.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you refuse the cart cookie, checkout will not work, because there is no way to remember what you put in the basket.
Reviews
If you leave a product review, the name you enter and the review text are published on the product page. Your email address is not published. We use it only to verify the review is attached to a real order, and to reply to you if the review raises a problem we should fix.
Who we share your information with
We share the minimum necessary with three kinds of company: the payment provider that processes your payment, the email service that delivers your licence key and order confirmations, and our hosting provider, whose servers hold the site and its database. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
We will disclose information if we are legally required to, for example by a valid court order.
How long we keep it
Order records, including your name, email and billing address, are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records in the United States, and no longer than that unless you have an open support case. Server access logs are kept for a short period and then rotated out. If you have an account and you close it, we delete the account and keep only the order records we are obliged to keep.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong. You can ask us to delete your information, and we will do so except where we are legally required to keep an order record. You can object to us using your information for analytics.
To exercise any of these, write to Support@kymakers.com. Most messages are answered within one hour, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so we do not hand your data to somebody pretending to be you.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. Access to the order database is restricted to the people who need it to run the shop. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise, but if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is substantial, we will say so on the page rather than hoping you notice.
